1. Decide Inside or Outside Mount

• Inside Mount: Shade fits inside the window frame for a clean look.
  
• Outside Mount: Shade covers the frame and extends beyond for more light control and coverage.
  

2. Measuring for Inside Mount

• Width: Measure the inside width of the window frame at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the narrowest measurement.
  
• Height: Measure from the top of the inside frame to the sill at the left, center, and right. Record the longest measurement.
  
• Depth: Check the frame depth to ensure it meets the manufacturer’s minimum requirement.
  

3. Measuring for Outside Mount

• Width: Measure the width of the area you want to cover. Add at least 2–3 inches (5–7.5 cm) on each side for better light control and privacy.
  
• Height: Measure from where you want the top of the shade to begin down to the desired length. Add extra inches above the frame if you want to mount higher.
